Where Vulnerability Meets Magic and Creativity

Hey you, I’m Taylour — poet, storyteller enthusiast, and sexual trauma survivor & advocate.

In my first collection, When Silence Found Her Voice, I pieced together poems I had written throughout my childhood paired with poems from the perspective of who I am now. I wanted to understand the complexities of my sexual trauma and the influence it had on my brain development, nervous system, and emotional intelligence.

Through my therapy journey, I found clarity, safety, and grounding. Poetry became the bridge between the void of dissociation and the chasm of hope.

My journey to understand and cope with my sexual trauma evolved into a phenomena that brought a voice to other survivors; moving from victim to survivor to advocate.

It is my mission to continue raising my voice about this epidemic while creating a safe space for survivors.

I’m currently working on my next collection, stay tuned for announcements on my Instagram account [at]taylourbogdanpoetry.

“This collection is a powerful outpouring of hurt and healing. When Silence Found Her Voice is an authentic, poignant, and raw examination of trauma, self-awareness, and faith. Through vivid and insightful craftsmanship, Bogdan evokes the full spectrum of human emotion and gives an honest voice to the messiness of reconstruction. Her uncompromising vulnerability will leave you unearthed, unashamed, and remade.”

I Am a Woman

reclaiming my divinity — my power, my femininity.

scared and bruised—I refuse to be broken.

I rise. resilient and bold—hear my battle cry.

the revelation your power no longer exists.

I resist your terror and twist your lies

into truth. I weave your brand with strands of gold.

turning the curve of my breasts,

the plains of my stomach,

the arc of my hips,

and the valley between my thighs

into a seraphic tapestry. my body knows

the history, and the victory is mine

as I rise

“Her poems are so beautifully crafted and yet to painfully visceral in description. Through out her poems, Taylour's words read with the mixture of grief and hope, and every single page inspires readers deep need for growth in the face of adversity.

I highly recommend picking up a copy of Taylour's book if you or anyone you love has gone through abuse, in any sense. Its raw, gripping, and deeply personal to the recovery process that comes after sexual abuse.
